Tangram Flex Launches Tangram Tenon, a Tool Suite Built to Enable Rapid, Assured Integration of Mission Systems
Tenon helps engineering teams integrate faster and with less risk — catching the faults that normally surface at test, back when they're cheap to fix.
DAYTON, Ohio, October 23, 2026 — Tangram Flex, Inc. today announced the release of Tangram Tenon, a tool suite built to make software integration of mission systems faster, less risky, and less dependent on any single vendor.
Integration is where modular programs slow down. Interfaces are complex, the work is manual, and the assumptions that hold a system together usually aren't verified until a late test event when a single fault can cost months of schedule and expensive rework.
Tenon is built to address this challenge.
Rather than building to a specification and hoping it works, Tenon allows teams to prove their integration up front: the design is checked for structural flaws before any code exists, tests are generated automatically from that design and run against the delivered software binaries, and every result traces back to a requirement. The same workflow runs on an engineer's laptop and in a CI pipeline, so integration is verified continuously instead of at a single high-stakes event.
Tangram Flex's define, build, test, and trace methodology is now accessible, all from the command line.
Tenon is also built for AI-assisted development. As teams adopt AI to generate integration code and specifications faster, Tenon provides the independent, deterministic check that proves that output is correct. It pairs the speed of AI with evidence that a program can stand behind.
"Tenon is the kind of software engineering tool this moment calls for," Matt Naveau, CTO of Tangram Flex, said. "Mission systems are under pressure to deploy capability faster and be modular at the same time; Tenon lets teams do both — integrating at a larger scale with proof behind every step, instead of trading speed for risk."
Tenon packages integration-assurance methods that Tangram Flex's engineers have refined on real defense programs, including integration design assurance, government reference architecture (GRA) compliance, open-architecture transition, and secure development pipelines.
